Presidential Candidates on Social Security

Now that we have gotten the Bosnia sniper fire incident behind us, the lapel pin thing solved, and the pastor problem solved, lets get down to real politics and what needs to be done to select a President of the United States.

We need to look at some of the real issues that will affect us in the next few years.

Probably the single most important issue to face us in the near future if you are in your 30's, 40's or 50's! is social security, medicare and health care.

Wait a minute.............I am not ready to retire and I am healthy!!.

Social Security and Medicare are for old folks!

Lets look at why these are the most important considerations for working people in their 30's, 40's or 50's.

If you are currently working and have parents or children, or are retired and have children, or if you will retire in the next few years, this is not only important to you, it is critical.

If you are in your 30's, 40's or 50's, most likely you have parents that are about to retire, or have already retired and are drawing social security and medicare.

What happens if social security and medicare stop or is drastically reduced?

Are you financially prepared to take care of them in the near future when they can no longer work?

Where will they live?

How will they get health care?

Do you have enough savings to get housing and medical care for them?

Do you make enough extra money each month to provide these things for them?

Unfortunately, most people are making just enough money to support themselves, much less bringing in their parents to live with them.

We need to help our parents live independently and with dignity.

Social Security and Medicare, although needing help, are designed to do just that.

When you go into the voting booth in November, you need to know which candidate has the best plan to not only protect Social Security and Medicare, but to improve and strengthen them.

Simply check your candidate's position and vote accordingly.

Now, is this not more important to you than if your candidate wears a flag lapel pin?
